On the walls of SAGE Community Arts in the exhibition gallery, the art of the 14th Annual National Juried Show is on display. A juried show is a competitive event, organized for artists who would like to see how their work stands up to that of other entrees.

The works will be on display until Oct. 12. SAGE will hold an Awards Reception, giving the public an opportunity to speak with artists and the juror beginning at 5:30 Thursday, Sept. 12.

Jill Benson pulled double duty as mom and SAGE Community Arts Executive Director during a recent appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse. Benson said the call for art this year, although smaller, still filled the gallery.

There is no charge to view the art in SAGE and the public is encouraged to not only stop in and view the collection, but also vote on their favorite to award one artist with People’s Choice before Sept. 12.

According to Benson, the choice made by the juror and the people are often stark contrasts and always enjoyable to reveal.
