House bill 0089 has passed out of the House Minerals, Business & Economic Development committee on a vote of 8-1. This bill proposes adding language to Wyoming statute authorizing the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to plug a well, prohibit drilling or regulate production if an owner or producer has more than $2 million in unpaid taxes that are more than 90 days delinquent of ad valorem tax on gross product of their mineral production.
House bill 0089 will proceed into the House for further debate.
House bill 0017, proposing protecting lands surrounding the State Veterans Home and Skilled Nursing Facility in Buffalo and two other sites in the state from commercial mineral development, passed second reading of the House.
The bill must now pass third reading and will then go to the Senate.
