WY Legislative Committee Working On Redistricting

The Wyoming Legislature is working on redrawing house and senate district boundaries that would go into effect this election season.
On first reading, the joint corporations, elections and political subdivisions committee passed house bill 100, that would increase the number of house districts from 60 to 62 and the number of senate districts from 30 to 31.
The plan would have house district 40 be composed of all of Johnson County as well as the town of Story, which is in southern Sheridan County and be a part of senate district 22.
Big Horn, Dayton and Ranchester would be in House District 51 and would remain in senate district 21.
Arvada-Clearmont would move from house district 40 to house district 52, which includes rural areas of Campbell County.
That district would also be part of senate district 1 which also includes all of Crook County and part of Weston County.
The bill is scheduled for a second reading in the house of representatives later Thursday morning (February 17).
