Roger Gould

Funeral services for Roger Gould, 71 year old Buffalo resident who passed away Tuesday at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Sheridan, Wyoming will be held Saturday October 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor William Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be held at the Harness Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with military graveside honors to immediately follow the funeral. A reception will be held at the Summit Wesleyan Church Family Life Center following the funeral and graveside. Donations in Roger’s memory may be made to VFW Post 2469 for Scholarships in care of the Harness Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com
Roger Otis Gould was born on November 18, 1949 in Midland, Michigan to Lewis and Lorraine Gould. He grew up and went to school in Midland and graduated from Midland High School with the class of 1968. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served with Marine ground troops in Vietnam as a Medical Corpsman. He was married on November 9, 1973 in the Philippines to Mercedes Tiongco. The couple lived in Italy, Hawaii and all over the United States as Roger completed his military career. Roger spent 21 years in the Navy as a hospital corpsman and retired in 1992 with the rank of E6. Roger and Mercedes divorced in 1996 and were living between Michigan and Florida. He was married on July 1, 2002 in Stanwood, Michigan to Jonette Hoyt and they made their home in Kalkaska, Michigan. Roger and Jonette moved to Buffalo in May of 2008 where they lived until his death.
Roger was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed reading, his firearms and target shooting. He was passionate about spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Jonette Gould of Buffalo; two daughters, Priscilla Ann Gould of Buffalo and Shirley Ann Hotchkiss and her husband Shane of Lehigh Acres, Florida; one step-son Stephen Pittman of Big Rapids, Michigan; two brothers Lewis “Butch” Gould and his wife Donna of Twining, Michigan and Ralph Gould and his wife Pamela of Australia; two sisters Helen Beebe of Alma, Michigan and Sheryl Jammer and her husband Dennis of Midland, Michigan; four grandchildren, Xavier and Chloe Hotchkiss, Lucas Crusan and David Gould and one great-grandchild to be born in April. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert Gould.
