Chamber to announce Awards of Excellence recipients next month

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce will announce recipients of the 2020 Awards of Excellence next month.

Nominees for the awards will be named and awards presented during the Chamber’s annual Business Awards program, to be presented via Zoom starting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Five awards will be presented, including the Key Service, Strength of Sheridan, Spirit of Sheridan, Business of the Year and Business Person, or Persons, of the Year.

Cost for the program is $10 per person, and registrations must be made in advance. Those who register will receive the Zoom link that will allow them to join the program.

Five people, organizations or businesses are nominated for each of the awards, and voting is by Chamber members.

The Key Service award honors a Chamber member non-profit organization that has made a significant impact in Sheridan County.

The Strength of Sheridan award honors a Chamber member business or organization that has a distinguished tenure of 20 or more years in the community and that demonstrates consistent service, continually invests in the community, meets challenges with innovative solutions and demonstrates sustained quality performance.

The Spirit of Sheridan award honors a business or individual who volunteers countless hours for the betterment of the Chamber and the local area.

The Business of the Year award honors a Chamber member business that positively impacts the economic health of the Sheridan area through exceptional business practices, customer service and innovation.

The Business Person of the Year award honors a Chamber member business person who shows strong leadership in business and community efforts and is a champion for economic development.
