The Big Horn County Wyoming Sheriff’s office received a call just after 12-noon on Tuesday, August 6th, about a 65 year old male who had fallen from his ATV on the Lily Lake Trail above Ten Sleep and had suffered possible back and other injuries.

A nurse who was on scene requested search and rescue and a helicopter evacuation.

Big Horn County Search and Rescue was dispatched along with First Flight of Wyoming out of Greybull.

First Flight was not able to land at the patients’ location, but found a landing zone a few hundred yards away.

Big Horn County Search and Rescue team members and the flight crew packaged the patient and were able to carry him to the helicopter for transport to a Billings, MT hospital for further treatment.

All team members were off the mountain and the mission was complete by 6:30 pm.
