The Clear Creek Recreation District (CCRD) in Clearmont held their first Valentine Dance on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 6-9 p.m. DJ Mike Guyer provided the music and the laser light show.

Around thirty people attended the dance, and Amy Rowe, Director at CCRD, said that the raffle of the six fresh flower centerpieces from Best in Bloom, along with donations, raised enough funds to continue providing refreshments for more dances.

“Raffle winners were Joanie Kiser, Jeanine Bohlmann, and Robert Greear. They each won 2 flowers! Thank you again to Best in Bloom for creating the centerpieces and to the sponsors: Rowe Family, Trinity Lewis, Chris Schock, and Tressa Lawrence!” Rowe said.

Rowe added that there are more events planned, and that they are “throwing around” the idea of a ‘Spring Fling’ later in the spring.

The dance not only drew area residents, but also families from out of town. Denny and Sherry Wagoner who own and operate High Mountain Mercantile came down from Sheridan with their daughter, Brooke.

Denny added about High Mountain Mercantile.

Rowe added that the Rec District is planning another event in March.

The deadline for tickets is March 10, and tickets are $15 which includes supper.

Rowe said that Yoga at the Rec District continues to be popular, and they have seven or eight kids that attend the preschool regularly and that teachers are commenting that they see an improvement in the kids that come into the school.
