cvannoyThe Town of Clearmont has a new town clerk, Kirstie Auzqui, as Vivian Ramsay and her family recently moved to Virginia. Auzqui said she found out about the job through a Sheridan Media post about the town looking to hire a new clerk.
Auzqui was born and raised in Clearmont, the daughter of Paul and Carole Auzqui, long time Clearmont ranchers.
She added that the job offered her another source of income, “as life is getting too expensive,”
She added that she liked the fact that the job was right in Clearmont, and that the town could offer flexible hours which gave her the freedom to work as well as having time to help out her parents and help on the family ranch.
Auzqui has a master’s degree in Sports Administration which she earned at Fort Hays State in Hays, Kansas. Before that she did her undergrad work at Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska. Finding a better fit as an academic advisor for student athletes, she worked at that for several years, including working at Sheridan College, helping student athletes stay on track to graduation.
When asked what some of the challenges would be, Auzqui said she only received 20 hours of training, which was all that Vivian could contribute during her last week on the job. Auzqui said that it is difficult to put everything that a clerk does in a year into 20 hours, and she was thankful that the town would let her call on Ramsay should a problem arise.
Mayor Chris Schock added,
Effective on Monday, Oct. 30, the new hours for the town hall are below.
