cvannoyThe Brinton Museum in Big Horn presents the Bighorn Rendezvous VIII Exhibit, Quickdraw, Dinner & Art Auction with the exhibition opening to the public on July 8. The Quickdraw, Dinner & Art Auction takes place on Saturday, August 26 the Quick Draw is from 9 AM to noon, with the dinner and art auction beginning at 5:30 p.m.
This event is in its 8th iteration and showcases award-winning, regionally- and nationally-recognized artists from throughout the U.S. The 2023 roster includes: Roger Broer, Hill City, SD; Tammy Callens, Jackson, WY; Sonja Caywood, Dayton, WY; Jim Jackson, Sheridan, WY; T. D. Kelsey, Cody, WY; Tom Lockhart, Canon City, CO; David Mensing, Sisters, OR; Anton Nowels, Phoenix, AZ; Julie Oriet, Cody, WY; Gregory Packard, Montrose, CO; Gerald Shippen, Cody, WY; Kathy Wipfler, Jackson, WY; Scott Yeager, Woodland Park, CO;and Jerry Salinas, Phoenix, AZ, will be participating in the Quickdraw only.
Artists are invited to submit up to 4 works for this show. The museum’s Bighorn Rendezvous VIII is a prestigious event featuring some of the most accomplished artists from the region. This year’s exhibit showcases oils, monotypes, pastels and also bronze sculptures.
The Quickdraw takes place on The Brinton Museum’s Quarter Circle A Ranch from 9 AM to noon. Artists will be working on the grounds in each of their respective mediums. Visitors are encouraged to stroll the property and talk with the artists to learn about different art processes and how to create work en plein air. The art produced during the Quickdraw event will be auctioned the same evening at a Dinner & Art Auction beginning at 5:30 PM. The Dinner & Art Auction is a ticketed event, and tickets may be purchased at thebrintonmuseum.org.
Proceeds from the art sales benefit The Brinton Museum and the participating artists. The Bighorn Rendezvous VIII Exhibit runs through August 26 and is made possible through the generous support of Terry Winchell & Claudia Bonnist, Fighting Bear Antiques Jackson (WY) and First Interstate Bank.
About The Brinton Museum: Founded in 1960, The Brinton Museum is a fine arts institution devoted to preserving the art and history of the West. Located on the historic Quarter Circle A Ranch in the foothills of the majestic Bighorn Mountains, it features 19th, 20th and 21st century American and Indian Art in a historic Western setting. The Brinton Museum is a participating member of the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association which offers its members free admission during regular museum hours to other participating NARM institutions.
