Sheridan Man Sentenced For Providing Fentanyl Pills To A Victim Who Later Died

A man who admitted he helped negotiate a drug deal that led to the overdose death of an individual, will be spending the next few years behind bars.

Eric Macormic was sentenced to 4-to-8 years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

Investigators with the Sheridan Police Department say in middle-January, police responded to a treatment building for a report of a deceased male subject, and some fentanyl pills were found close-by.

A coroner searched the victim’s phone and alerted police regarding some messages between Macormic and the victim discussing pill purchases.

When interviewed, Mccormick admitted he was able to get the pills from a dealer in Gillette.

At the sentencing hearing, prosecutors pointed out that Macormic and 7 prior convictions for possession on his criminal record.
