D’Ann Wright

Dorothy Ann “D’Ann” Wright was born September 1, 1960, in Gillette Wyoming to Jack and Donna Lynde Chapman. She joined 3 older siblings: Carmen, Donald, and Steve. D’Ann spent her younger years with her family on a ranch near Moorcroft Wyoming where she attended grade school and then the family moved to Buffalo Wyoming where she attended middle school and high school. In 1977 D’Ann married Mark Wright and was blessed with the birth of her daughter Heather in 1978 and son David in 1984. They lived in Story Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and back to Wyoming during their years together making a life for their family until they divorced. D’Ann then started her life over and selflessly worked hard through the years as a maid, daycare worker, helping on a horse ranch, and as a RENEW house manager and caregiver to provide the best life for her children and remained in the Sheridan and Big Horn areas so they could finish school then after they graduated she moved to Billings. Her true passion in life was the love of her family, especially her mother, children, and grandchildren, so she moved back to Sheridan to be near them all.
D’Ann loved her family and friends and working hard and enjoyed cross-stitching, crafting, and country music. She held special memories of taking a crafting cruise in Alaska with her mother Donna and her son David when he was young and then later in her life she was very proud to have been able to take her daughter Heather and niece Tavy along on her bucket list trip to Las Vegas in 2016 to see George Strait in the first concert of the Strait to Vegas tour.
D’Ann was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother. She was a woman who had overcome many obstacles and had to make many new starts in life but she always did so with persistence, strength, and grace. D’Ann was always there to lend an ear, a shoulder, or any advice to whoever may need it. She was kind, selfless, giving and always caring more about others than herself, even to the end when she had given instructions to be a tissue and organ donor to give others the hope of health and a better life.
D’Ann is survived by her son David and his children Abraham and Eleanor; daughter Heather’s children Tyler, Tasia, Tobey, and Tanner and by her siblings and their families. Her grandparents, parents, and daughter Heather preceded her in death.
