Snowpack numbers in north-central Wyoming as well as the rest of the state remain above normal.
According to the US Department of Agriculture, as of March 1st, the Tongue River Drainage area is at 117% of the 30-year average, and is at 132% compared to one year ago.
The Clear Creek Drainage is at 109% and 120% respectively, while the Powder River Drainage area is at 115%.
All but one river basin in the Cowboy State is above average, and that one was the South Platte River area which was at 78%.
That area includes the city of Cheyenne.
The highest area above average was the Little Snake River drainage area, in south-central Wyoming, at 147% of average.
A spokesperson for the USDA says forecasts are fairly mild for the foreseeable future, thus there may be some moderation in the snowpack numbers in the coming weeks.
