Ron RichterA 29-year-old Casper man was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison for the charge of production of child pornography. Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson sentenced James Wayne Luce to 240 months of imprisonment with 12 years of supervised release once the prison sentence is complete. Luce came to the attention of law enforcement after an acquaintance found his lost cellular phone, unlocked it, and saw nude pictures of a prepubescent female child. The acquaintance then contacted the Casper Police Department and turned the phone over to them.
The Wyoming Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated the incident and was able to locate and identify child victims. This crime was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation through their participation in the Wyoming Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christyne M. Martens.
