Sheridan College Theater Instructor Dr. Lauren Graffin Estrada and Dance Instructor Stephanie Koltiska made an appearance to discuss the upcoming performance A Seat at the Table.
For some time, Graffin Estrada and Koltiska have been exploring a work that would unite the theater and dance departments in one piece of performance art. The instructors have devised a piece of work unique to both departments. Graffin Estrada said the result is a physical theater piece.

The dance performances add an extra level of performance and expression to the stories that draw on interviews with people connected to each member of the class, exploring life’s journeys.

According to the instructors, A Seat at the Table has become a piece about connection, the importance of talking, what it means to live a life with honor and meaning, and the things that lead us to our destination.
With music by Sheridan College music professor Dr. Chris Erickson, A Seat at the Table is an interdisciplinary exploration of human emotion during the high and lows that all people share during life.
The performance will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, with an additional showing at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. Both performances will be at the WYO Theater in downtown Sheridan.
Tickets are $5-$10 at WYO Theater box office at (307) 672-9084 or online by clicking here.
