The Sheridan Police Department promoted two officers to positions of leadership on April 29.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Chief of Police Travis Koltiska informed listeners on the importance of promotions within law enforcement and the characteristics of what are essentially SPD’s first line leaders.
On April 29, Jeremy Kmett was promoted to the rank of Corporal and Nevada Krinkee was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. These vital roles within the department are the first line leaders of officers on the streets of Sheridan. Koltiska told listeners the department looks for characteristics of problem solving and community policing. Both Kmett and Krinkee exhibited these and other traits.
SPD Captain Tom Ringley told listeners the positions come with increased responsibility and he is confident these new leaders will not only meet, but exceed standards.
Kmett will provide first line and field supervision to Sergeant Shuan Gerleman’s team. Krinkee will now assume leadership of his own patrol team.
