Judy Louise Rosol Wildeman was born on November 6, 1948, in Wisconsin, to Robert and Julia Rosol. She grew up in Waupun, Wisconsin, and graduated from Waupun High School with the class of 1966. After graduation, she went to work at the shoe factory in Waupun before beginning the next chapter of her life.

On July 1, 1967, she married Albert Lee “Smokey” Wildeman, and together they built a life filled with love, hard work, and true partnership. Wherever life and work took them, Judy and Smokey walked side by side—raising their three children, moving to Buffalo in 1978, and supporting one another in every venture.

Judy found joy in her favorite job—cooking for the Seniors Lunch Program when it was located at the YMCA. She treasured the friendships she made there and the laughter she shared around the table.

Judy and Smokey worked hand in hand at KLGM Radio, and later as owners of KLGT, KBBS, and KZZS radio stations. Judy’s quiet strength and steady presence were a vital part of their success, and the stations became not just their livelihood, but an extension of their commitment to community.

She also enjoyed crafts, puzzles, reading, and the simple gift of family time.

Judy is survived by her daughter Jodi Verplancke and husband Jim of Buffalo; her son Steve Wildeman and wife Gayl of Dell, Montana; three grandchildren, Sierra, Tanner, and Kacy Jo and her husband Kyle; and four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Kyle, Katherine, and Antonia; one brother, Robert Rosol of Black Creek, Wisconsin; one sister Delores Lounsbury of Redwing, Minnesota and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Smokey, her daughter Pam, two brothers, and one nephew.
