A Look Back in Time: Sept. 21, 1920

Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Sept. 21, 1920.

Before a packed house last night in the Orpheum Theater, Clarence Eklund, lightheavyweight champion wrestler of the world, successfully defended his title against Billy Edwards in one of the most spectacular and hard-fought contests ever seen in Sheridan.

Among important topics to be taken up in a meeting at Sheridan’s city hall tonight of the local Donald Garbutt post of the American Legion will be a boxing contest between Conley, the local welter-weight, and Goggle of Greybull.

Ethel Mae Ketchum of Dayton was among members of the Sheridan county boys and girls club to take honors at the recent state fair in Douglas.
