Habitat for Humanity’s Wolf Creek Wrangle, Sept. 19.
Amid COVID-19 guidelines the Wolf Creek Wrangle has had to limit the number of runners in the event this year. Traditionally, the Wolf Creek Wrangle has been Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns largest annual fundraiser.
Along with limiting the 5K and 10K to only 25 runners each, the half-marathon will not be taking place this year, although organizers hope conditions next year will allow the run to take place traditionally next year.
But that hasn’t stopped the 50 slots for the on-site run from filling up. People can still be involved and support Habitat for Humanity by participating in the virtual run and posting their times online.
Registration for the virtual run is $45 and will remain open until Sept. 11, but organizers are asking that people register as quickly as possible so they may get a count of t-shirts needed. Runners will receive a swag bag including a participation medal and a Wolf Creek t-shirt.
Although the event has featured a virtual run for the past three years, this year the virtual run will be critical in raising funds.
The Wolf Creek Wrangle will take place at Eaton’s Ranch on Sept. 19. The 5K run will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 10K runners will begin at 9 a.m.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Habitat For Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns executive director Christine Dieterich informed listeners on the virtual procedure this year.
Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns has hosted the Wolf Creek Wrangle, a fundraising 5K, 10K and half marathon running event held at the historic Eaton’s Ranch in Wolf, Wyoming for 12 years.
