Tongue River High School Graduation Held on Saturday

Tremendous applause filled the gym at Tongue River High School as TRHS sophomore Hatcher Sturtzman sang The Star Spangled Banner a cappella at the graduation exercises on May 26.

TRHS Principal Wade Sanford greeted the crowd and the graduates,

The TRHS Senior choir members performed “Butterfly, Fly Away”, and Principal Sanford presented the honor cords to the those who achieved them.

The first honored speaker was Erika Stutzman, who said that one good thing about growing up in a small community was that you were never lost in the crowd. She gave a thank you to the parents, teachers and coaches.

Brooke Krumm was the second speaker, and she said she felt like she lived several different lives in high school. She said that life wasn’t easy.

Keynote speaker was Russ Wilde, TRMS Principal and former teacher at Tongue River Middle School.

He had several words of wisdom for the graduates, many who he singled out with short reminiscences of when they were his students.

He talked about how many times he had heard the word, No in his life, and shared how he moved past the No and moved on.

He added that he would leave the graduates with three pieces of advice.

There was a slide show presentation of the graduates, and advice from the TRE kindergarten class on what the graduates should do moving forward.

There was the flower presentation to parents, and Principal Sanford presented the class of 2026. Tassels were turned and confetti cannons showered the 57 seniors of the graduating class.
