Sheriff Dominguez Announces Bid for Reelection

This year marks my 23rd year in public safety and with the support from my wonderful wife, Melissa, and our two amazing boys, Will and Brody, I am announcing I will seek reelection to serve another term as Sheridan County’s Sheriff with humility, purpose and respect.

It has truly been an honor serving Sheridan County as its 23rd elected Sheriff. These last three years, our county has been faced with tragedy, natural disaster, and the need to approach our community’s mental health in a different way. While all of those tribulations, without a doubt, have affected every single person in our community, I am proud to call Sheridan County home and have been blessed to witness our communities come together and support one another.

Over the last three years, our Sheriff’s Office Staff has continued to provide high-quality law enforcement service to Sheridan County residents and visitors.

Together, we have reimplemented our K9 program, built and maintained partnerships with local agencies and organizations to address mental health within our community, launched a Virtual Crisis Care program for our Patrol and Detention Divisions to serve our rural communities and inmates within the jail, and have partnered with our local hospital’s addiction clinic, through a grant our office received, to offer addiction treatment to inmates in order to reduce recidivism within our county. Through our community outreach events, we have identified other ways the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office can serve our county like partnering with Wyoming Game and Fish to offer more Hunter Education opportunities within the community. Our office continues to prioritize student safety within county schools by offering two School Resource Officers and has entered into an agreement with the Sheridan College to provide dedicated College Patrol.

All of this could not be accomplished without the dedicated staff from our Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office who sacrifice so much to ensure our county is safe. They are putting their lives on the line every single day to serve the citizens of Sheridan County and I’m proud and honored to work alongside them.

Throughout my tenure as Sheriff, I have been honored to serve as President and Vice-President for the Wyoming Sheriffs Association, and I was recently nominated by the Wyoming Sheriffs to serve as Wyoming’s representative for the Western States Sheriffs Association. I currently serve as a board member for the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy’s Advisory Board, Sheridan College’s Criminal Justice Advisory Committee, Sheridan County’s E-911 board, Center for a Vital Community, Sheridan Youth Baseball, and I am a proud member of the Big Horn Lion’s Club.

Our family enjoys the outdoors spending time in the mountains skiing, hunting, fishing, and camping. During the winter, I volunteer with the Antelope Butte Ski Patrol and this last year, we were proud parents as Will became a ski patroller alongside me. I have spent many summers coaching youth baseball and this summer, I have the privilege coaching our youngest son, Brody, on Sheridan’s American Legion Infantry Baseball Team.

I would be honored to serve another term as Sheridan County Sheriff and continue the great work we have accomplished and would humbly ask for your support on August 18, 2026.
