Johnson County Commission OK’s 2024 CMAQ Agreement

Johnson County will have funding for their 2024 Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) project.

County Road & Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer explained that he had applied to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) for just over $337,000 in funding and was awarded just shy of $180,000.

With the local matching funds of about $45,000 the total award is a little more than $224,000.

He told the commissioners that his department will still have the $337,000 that he originally wanted, and explained how.

Pehringer said he cut down the number of miles to be treated with the federal funds through WYDOT to 70, down from the original 98 miles they traditionally treat to make it work, but will still treat the 98 miles they had planned on.

The commission voted to approve and accept the agreement.
