A controversial bill that was run during the 2019 General Session of the 65th Wyoming Legislature but ultimately failed to become law is back for the group’s 2020 Budget Session. Local Senator Dave Kinskey explains more about what the Change in Party Affiliation legislation is and why he supports it.

House Bill 209 has passed second reading in the House. The measure narrowly passed the initial introductory vote with 40 yays, 17 nays, and 3 excused. Local Representatives Mark Kinner, Mark Jennings, and Richard Tass all voted in favor while Representative Cyrus Western was excused. If passed on 3rd reading by the House, the Senate will have a chance to decide the fate of the legislation. To view the legislation, follow this link https://wyoleg.gov/Legislation/2020/HB0209.
