A request for a variance to the setback regulations was approved by the Sheridan County Commission at their meeting this week.

According to County Planner Mark Reid, the normal setback requirement is 25 feet, but the requirement is not possible on a proposed single-family dwelling in a Rural Residential (RR) District in Story.

There is a county easement that crosses a corner of the property, which is 25 feet from Wagon Box Road. The applicant originally wanted a variance for zero feet from the easement, to build a new residential home on, which was rejected by the P&Z.

A proposal for a variance of 13 feet from the easement was discussed, which the commission eventually voted to approve.
