Pat BlairThe Northern International Livestock Exposition – better known as NILE – is now accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Based in Billings, NILE annually awards scholarships to FFA and 4-H students in several western states including Wyoming. To be eligible, applicants must be actively involved in their communities, leaders in their respective programs, must have excelled in the classroom and participated in NILE events.
Scholarships being offered include the following:
High School One-Time Scholarship – This is awarded to a high school senior who meets the qualifications listed in the guidelines.
Secondary One-Time Scholarship – This is a one-time grant to a student already enrolled in college or a vo-tech school and who meets the qualifications listed in the guidelines.
Shining Star – This is for an applicant who stands out in the crowd, and all qualified applicants are eligible.
Needle in the Haystack – This is awarded to any NILE scholarship applicant who attends the annual NILE Foundation fundraising event. This year’s event hasn’t yet been held, and the date is to be announced later. The winner of the scholarship will be randomly drawn during the event.
NILE Legacy Award – This scholarship is offered to students who have been very active in various NILE events from the time they were young.
Rolling Scholarship – These scholarships will be offered to a select group of high school seniors who will have the opportunity to renew the schoiarship yearly, for up to four years. Recipients of these scholarships are chosen from the pool of applicants who are currently seniors in high school.
