Families can come out for a night of food, games and talent at Dayton’s Scott Bicentennial Park next week when the Tongue River Valley Community Center presents a Summer Family Fun Carnival.

Erin Kilbride, who’s executive director of the community center, said the family fun carnival is typically held in the fall, in November in the center’s big domed gym.

That all starts at 5:30 p.m. next Friday, Aug. 14. Then starting at 7:30 p.m., Kilbride said, there will be a Counting Stars Talent Show. Kilbride said there’s a group of both present Tongue River High School music students and past music students at the high school who want to perform.

Kilbride said the games will include a dunk tank, a plinko game, a cookie walk – which is kind of like a cake walk, she said – along with ring toss and, probably, bingo. Tickets for the games will be 25 cents each.

Dinner will also be available for a nominal cost and will feature a pulled pork sandwich or hot dog along with chips and drinks.
