Firefighter Academy

The Wyoming State Fire Marshal’s Office along with Sheridan Fire-Rescue, the Rocks Springs Fire Department and the Laramie Fire Department are facilitating a new firefighter academy. The partnership, according to a media release, allows for top-notch training and collaboration with the departments to ensure that hands-on training skills are accomplished and that newly hired career firefighters receive training in unique circumstances. 

Last week’s training focused on search and rescue and this week the group is training on firefighter safety in Laramie. The training academy is being conducted over a seven week period with new firefighters scheduled to graduate from the academy on April 18.
