Unemployment Numbers In Sheridan And Johnson Counties Increase From October to November 2023

New unemployment numbers from the Wyoming State Department of Workforce Services are up in all areas of Wyoming, but that’s normal for this time of year.

The statewide seasonally adjusted rate for November of this year is at 3.0%.

That’s up from 2.9% in October, but down from November of last year, when it was at 3.9%.

The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November 2023 was at 3.7%, which is down from 3.9% in the previous month, and up slightly from 3.6% in November of 2022.

Both Sheridan and Johnson Counties’ unemployment rate increased from October to November.

Sheridan County checked in at 2.6%, which is up from 2.3% in the previous month, and down from 4.0% in November of last year. 

Johnson County was at 2.9%, and that’s up from 2.4% in October, but down from 3.4% in November 2022.

Weston County had the lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming in November of 2023 at 2.2%, while Teton County had the highest rate at 3.7%.

Nonfarm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 8,400 jobs from November 2022 to November 2023.
