The Food Group, based in Sheridan, has announced the nonprofit will take part in the WyoGives from 12 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. July 12.
The Food Group states that this 24-hour online event is a great way to get the community excited about giving locally and a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for The Food Group.
The Food Group has a $10,000 match this year. Funds donated early in the morning, before approximately 9 a.m., July 12, according to Executive Director Keri McMeans, will be matched again by another Wyoming based foundation.
“So, we have an incredible opportunity to encourage donors to give and make the most of their contributions with the double match. Remember, it is best to donate online early to take advantage of the matching funds,” McMeans said in an email. “Why early? Because the Wyoming based foundation will match the first million dollars donated across WY to nonprofits who qualify for matching funds.”
The Food Group seeks to alleviate childhood hunger in Sheridan County, by providing nourishment. The organization is a local, privately funded nonprofit that impacts the lives of many children by combating food insecurity. The Food Group feeds more than 700 children every week, year-round.
