Sheridan/Big Horn/Tongue River/Buffalo HS Football: The Sheridan High School Football team spotted Laramie an early 14-nothing lead in their game this past Friday, then recovered and held on to win 35-27 at home.

The Broncs are now 5-1 on the season and next play this coming Friday at home against Cheyenne East.

Big Horn went on the road and manhandled Torrington 72-27.

Cruz Hernandez accounted for 5 touchdowns.

The Rams return home this Friday to play Wheatland.

Tongue River was gifted a safety early in the first half, then scored the only touchdown of the game early in the second half, and it was enough to win at home vs. Moorcroft 8-zip.

The Eagles next play on Friday at Burns.

Buffalo picked up their first win of the season with a homecoming win against Douglas 37-6.

The Bison are at home again this week for senior night on Friday vs. Riverton.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Volleyball: Sheridan went 2-0 on their road trip against both Cheyenne South and Laramie.

The Lady Broncs are at home this coming Friday and Saturday as they take on Cheyenne East and Cheyenne Central.

Big Horn had little trouble on Saturday at home vs. Sundance, winning 3-zip.

The Lady Rams next play on Thursday at home vs. Buffalo, Friday at Moorcroft and on Saturday at home vs. Wright.

Tongue River pulled off sweeps at Worland and at home vs. Buffalo.

The Lady Eagles next play on Friday at Wheatland.

Arvada-Clearmont lost on Saturday at Upton.

The Lady Panthers next play on Thursday at Kaycee.

Buffalo lost on Saturday at Tongue River.

The Lady Bison next play on Thursday at Big Horn and on Friday at Glenrock.

Kaycee won at home on Saturday vs. Rock River.

The Lady Bucs next play on Thursday at home vs. Arvada-Clearmont as well as on Friday and Saturday at a 1A Jamboree in Casper.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Cross Country: Eli Balkenbush and the Sheridan boys team each finished 1st on Friday in a race at Miles City, Montana, while the girls team was 3rd.

Meanwhile in Cody, Jace Townsend of Buffalo was 2nd in the boys race, to help the Bison finish 1st.

Lyla Marney of Big Horn won the girls race.

Both Tongue River and Buffalo are scheduled to compete this coming Friday at Powell.


Sheridan/Buffalo HS Girls Swimming and Diving: Sheridan placed 2nd out of 6 teams at the Natrona County Invitational on Saturday, while Buffalo was 1st out of 4 teams in Douglas.

The Lady Bison are scheduled to compete on Friday and Saturday at Cheyenne East, while Buffalo will host a meet on Saturday.


Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks split weekend road games, winning at Butte 8-1, but lost at Bozeman 2-1.

The team returns home this weekend on Friday vs. Bozeman and on Saturday vs. Helena.


College Football: Not much went right for the Wyoming Cowboys as they were shut out on Saturday at North Dakota State 28-zip.

Quarterback Tyler Hughes was only 5 of 14 passing for 52 yards, 1 interception and was sacked 3 times.

The Pokes only managed 8 first downs, was 2 of 11 on third down conversions, and had 162 yards of total offense.

The Brown and Gold are now 2-3 on the season and have 1 less day this week to prepare for their next game, which is a Friday contest at San Jose State.

As for Montana State, an ill-timed time out by the Bobcats allowed Idaho one last chance to score, and they did, plus the 2-point conversion, as the Vandals pulled off the Friday upset 35-34.

Sheridan High School grad Dane Steel caught 5 passes for 70 yards and 1 touchdown, while Colson Coon carried the ball 15 times for 56 yards.

MSU has this week off from competition and next play on Saturday, October 17th at Eastern Washington.


Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos lost yesterday at San Francisco 24-14.

Quarterback Bo Nix was 25 of 42 passing for 214 yards and 1 TD toss to Jaylen Waddle.

Will Lutz kicked 2 field goals.

Denver next plays this coming Sunday at the LA Chargers.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey: The Colorado Avalanche are now 2-0 on the season, thanks to a win on Saturday at home vs. St. Louis 6-1.

The Avs are next scheduled to play this coming Wednesday at Winnipeg.


Denver Nuggets Pre-Season Basketball: The Denver Nuggets lost their first pre-season game of the season yesterday at home vs. Utah 109-97.

The 2 teams are scheduled to play each other again tomorrow at Salt Lake City.


Major League Baseball Playoffs: Milwaukee would walk off a 4-3 win yesterday in Game 2 of their best of 5 series at home vs. San Diego to take a 2-nothing lead.

Game 3 is tomorrow at San Diego.

Atlanta would pick up a big road win last night at the LA Dodgers 3-2, to tie the series at 1.

Game 3 is tomorrow in Atlanta.

Today is Game 2 between the Chicago White Sox at Cleveland and the New York Yankees at Tampa Bay.

The White Sox and Rays each lead 1-game to none.
