One Sheridan High School Senior has made a killing of sorts on the court.

Mesa Hanft recently recorded her 1,000th kill, which is the last person to hit the ball before it crosses over the net.

She says her teammates are the ones that set her up to finish the job, and then there’s the excitement when it’s over with and her team won that point.

“I mean you got your teammates talking to you in the back, you just kind of got to see it. We work on it a lot in practice, so you just kind of, I don’t know, I just kind of go up there and I hit the ball as hard as I can, so that’s kind of my way. It’s great, I mean the whole gym goes crazy and you have your teammates kind of shoving you, so that’s really cool, but I think we do a really good job at celebrating each other, so that’s what makes it really special.”

Sheridan is currently 15-10 on the season and are scheduled to play at home on Friday (October 16th) vs. Thunder Basin and on Saturday at Campbell County.
