Greg was born on April 14, 1971, in Sheridan Wyoming to Don Norskog and Marla Walker Garriffa. He came into the world with a fighting spirit and left the same way following a brief battle with pneumonia. Greg gained his wings on May 12th, 2024, and will be reunited in Heaven with his father Don Norskog.
Greg spent his childhood between Big Horn and Sheridan. He learned the sport of tractor pulling from his father and grandfather and fell in love with the sport. This was the catalyst for his passion in the arena of car racing. He successfully raced for years, in his modified car X, winning championship trophies and representing both Red Bull and Harry Bondi as a sponsored driver. His business, Win Performance, showed his passion and love for the sport of racing as well. Greg enjoyed anything outdoors spending time at the lake on jet skis, hunting, camping, and 4-wheeling with his two dogs Shasta and Shadow by his side. Greg also enjoyed spending time in the Big Horn Mountains every chance he got.
After attending high school in Big Horn, Greg worked for various mines and construction companies as a heavy equipment operator. He worked everywhere from Nevada to Montana and back to Wyoming. He gave his all to everything he did and could fabricate and weld anything he wanted to. Greg was known as a hard worker and helped everyone he knew. He had an infectious smile, a quick wit, and left a lasting impression on everyone he came across. Greg was an amazing man and will be missed by those who knew him.
Greg is survived by his son, Taylor, his mother Marla, aunts and uncles Marsha (Ed) Neeriemer, Tony (Valerie) Norskog, Ronnie (Cheryl) Walker, David Walker (Gretchen Stephens), Sue (Jim) Bremcamp, and half-siblings: Brandy (Joe) Campbell, Ryk Norskog, Jackie (Jeremy) Hudoba, Colleen Garriffa (Michael, Demeriane, Lakya) and Michelle Garriffa (Jordan). Greg was preceded in death by his father Don Norskog, uncle Wayne Walker, and grandparents Jim and Bernice Norskog and Kenneth and Norma (Kolhrus) Walker.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and prayers. A fund has been established to help Taylor with arrangements. Please send donations to:
