Our sweet Mom, Patricia Pauline Mayberry (Jaehn), passed away peacefully in Sheridan Wy, at Sunrise on April 12th, surrounded by her children. Pat was born in Boulder, Colorado on August 10th, 1944, to John and Marjorie Knaus (Hill). She was the youngest of five children and often spoke fondly of her childhood. She loved growing up on the farm, located in Valmont Colorado, with her siblings Barbara, Ronnie, Rosie, and Lori. As a little girl, she attended Valmont First Presbyterian church with her siblings. She shared many memories of fun days spent playing on the family farm. The three youngest girls, Rosie, Lori, and Patty, each a year apart in age, would sing three-part harmony, often performing in public. They would wear matching dresses made by their mother, who was a housewife, seamstress, and musician in a local band. She remembered her childhood as a time full of adventure, fun, and joy and she developed a lifelong love for music, singing, and horses. She later attended Fort Collins High School, in Fort Collins Colorado.

She married young and was blessed with four children. She dedicated her life to loving, caring for, and raising her children. Pat enjoyed painting and creating Western themes with charcoal. She was also a lifelong fan of country music. Her favorite singers were Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, and Alan Jackson. Her favorite song was “Coat of Many Colors” by Dolly Parton, as it reminded her of her Mom and the little dresses she and her sisters wore growing up. She was a big fan of the Denver Broncos and watched them faithfully every Sunday. She enjoyed talking about the game, and how bad or good the team played. She dressed the part of a Bronco fan faithfully. From t-shirts to coats, blankets, and scarves, if it was football season and the Broncos were playing, she was wearing her blue and orange.

In the late 70s, Pat and her late husband Ron Jaehn, moved to Sheridan Wyoming where they owned and operated Jaehn Heating & Air Conditioning, INC. Pat also earned her real estate license and began her career as a Real Estate Agent, working for Carroll Realty Co. In the mid 80’s Pat and her husband sold their company and moved to Colorado Springs Co. Pat continued her real estate career in Colorado. She loved and practiced Real Estate for most of her adult life. She mentored and helped many others enter and find success in the field.

After a move to Eaton, Colorado in 2006, Pat continued real estate, while also lovingly serving as a caregiver to her late husband Ron for seven years and then again to her late husband Thomas Mayberry.

In February of 2020, Pat relocated back to Sheridan Wyoming, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Nanci and Dave.

Pat was an optimist throughout her life and always believed things happened for a greater reason. She had a sweet smile, a great sense of humor, and a quick & clever wit. She would often turn a phrase for a laugh and wait for you to catch it, with a whimsical wink of her eye. She passed on her childhood family tradition of opening one present on Christmas Eve to her children. If you asked her in advance what you were getting for Christmas, she would joke, “a Silver Nixea,” slang for a silver nothing (wink). She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family and guests. She was always willing to help a friend in need. As she aged, she fondly remembered her childhood and the songs of her youth. She would sing sweet songs to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her mother Marjorie P. Casey (Hill) and step-father Thomas Casey, Her father, John A. Knaus, and step-mother Milicent Knaus, sister Barabara Butterfield and brother-in-law Larry Butterfield, step-daughter Heather Jaehn, husband Ronald Jaehn, and husband Thomas Mayberry. She is survived by her brother Ronnie Knaus and his wife Nancy, her sister Rosie Johnson and husband Bob, and her sister Lori Main and husband Bill. She is also survived by her children and their spouses Tracy and Craig Blumenshine (Horace ND), Nanci and Dave Loseke (Sheridan WY), Chris and Laurie Rumley (Colorado Springs CO), Todd and Marla Rumley (Loveland CO), and step-son Sean and Anette Jaehn (Greeley CO). The grandchildren and spouses that survive her are Courtney & Eric Heischman, Kyle & Caroline Blumenshine, Cody & Rachel Blumenshine, Jenna & Sartaj Khan, Josh Loseke, Brock, Soren and Aubrey Rumley, Ryan Rumley, and Sydney Rumley. Step-grandchildren Hannah Jaehn and Seth Jaehn. Pat is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.

Pat will be remembered most of all as our loving Mother, Sister, Grandma Patty, and Gigi. We will all miss her optimism, her humor, and her sweetness so very much! We will gather in Sheridan Wyoming to celebrate her life.
