Barb Jowett was born on April 16, 1960, in St. Clair, Michigan to Charles and Florence Brenner. She was the youngest of seven children; Don (Judy), Bob (Carol), Jack (Deb), Tom (Jan), Sue (Joe) Hohmann, and Rick (Tracy) Brenner. Barb attended and graduated from St. Clair High School in 1978 and started her working career. Her first job was at K-Mart in Marysville, Michigan, where she met her lifelong best friend and fishing buddy. She married John Jowett on June 11th, 1983. Together, they had three daughters, Jenn, Mandey, and Krissy. She started her career with SCSD2, working at Meadowlark Elementary School as a para-professional; she loved and cared for all of her students for the last 15 years. In her spare time, she loved to camp, fish, garden, paint, sew, quilt, read, and spend time with her family. She had three grandchildren, Nina, Hunter, and Lilly, and three unofficially adopted grandchildren, Shaylee, Brooklynn, and Wilken Spielman, who brought so much joy and company to her life and taught her hobbies.
She was known by many and loved by all.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Brenner, her mother, Florence Brenner, Her sister-in-law, Carol Jowett, and two of her nephews.
She is survived by her husband, John Jowett, her daughters; Jenn (Justin) Humphreys, Mandey Jowett, and Krissy Jowett, her grandchildren; Nina, Hunter, and Lilly Humphreys, her siblings listed above and their spouses, her in-laws; Sherry (Doug) Heath, Chuck (Earlleen) Jowett, Jerry Jowett, and countless extended family.
A public viewing will be held at Champion Funeral Home on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. In place of flowers please donate in Barbara’s honor to Special Olympics Wyoming at 239 W. 1st, Casper WY, 82601.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
