This weekend the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buffalo will host the second Quarantine Showdown event to give kids of all ages up to 21 years of age the opportunity to win cash, buckles and banners showing their prized livestock.

Liz Kincaid, secretary for the shows during the last two years, tells us more about how the events came about.

Kincaid said they have seen a lot of interest again this year from interested participants, with about 120 kids already signed up with multiple animals.

With same-day sign-ups, she is expecting upwards of 200 participants before the weekend is done.

The local communities have been instrumental in helping to put these events on.

The Quarantine Showdown will feature beef, swine, sheep and goat shows in four age divisions as well as a Sheridan and Johnson County Producer Show.

The event kicks off Friday at 7am and will continue Saturday and Sunday at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buffalo.
