JC Commissioners request donations and cards for locked-down Veterans

Johnson County Commission Chairman Bill Novotny is asking for donations of diet soda and individually wrapped snacks to be used at the Veteran’s Home of Wyoming located in Buffalo. 

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Novotny told listeners that due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the Veteran’s Home, a lockdown has been put in place.

In a Facebook post, dated Dec. 11, Novotny said the Johnson County Commissioner’s Office is attempting to bring some relief to the 74 residents and staff at the long term care facility. Novotny asked residents to consider sending Christmas cards, well wishes or quick notes of support to the residents. The Johnson County Commission Chairman also said the office is accepting donations of diet soda and individually wrapped snacks for the veteran residents and staff.

Donations of diet soda and snack items will be accepted at the Johnson County Commissioners Office located at 76 North Main, Buffalo, WY 82834. In the FB post, Novotny noted that they cannot accept any other items outside of the soda and snacks at this time due to guidelines from the facility.
