Chamber Celebrates Name Change of Mead Lumber

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the name change of Knecht Home Center to Mead Lumber during an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting Friday, Oct. 17, 2025.
Since its start in 1928, Knecht Home Center has been a trusted source for building materials and retail hardware. Mead Lumber acquired the Sheridan location of Knecht Home Center in 2006, and launched a company-wide rebranding initiative in 2023 to bring greater consistency across its business units.
