Jo Co UW Extension Offering Canning Classes in May
The Johnson County University of Wyoming Extension Office in Buffalo will be offering a class on home food preservation on May 8.
The class will teach boiling water and pressure canning techniques in two separate classes at the Johnson County Fairgrounds Community Building from 1 to 4 p.m. or from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 8.
UW Extension Educator Vicki Hayman will teach the principals and techniques using the different canning methods.
Class Participants will pressure-can water-packed tomatoes and boiling water-can apple wedges in cinnamon and red hot syrup.
Interested persons can register online or by calling the extension office.

There is a cap of 10 participants per session, filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
There is a registration fee of $20 per person to cover the cost of supplies, payable by cash or check at the beginning o each session.
