SPD shares broad goals for policing

Sheridan Police Department Captain Tom Ringley made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to explain the Department’s policing goals.
The SPD policing efforts focus on an array of issues that Sheridan, like every community, faces regarding crime and safety. But the SPD has identified five broad goals that the department has prioritized.

The SPD works with a system developed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to report and keep track of crime and policing efforts.

According to the FBI, the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program generates reliable statistics for use in law enforcement. It also provides information for students of criminal justice, researchers, the media, and the general public. The program has been providing crime statistics to stakeholders and the press since 1930. However, it is not the UCR that dictates the specific goals of the SPD. As each community differs in policing needs and crimes, the SPD focuses their goals based on what the City of Sheridan has requested.

Why not articulate about public safety?
Instead your officers have arrested people who are suffering a major medical issue, for example 2/4/2021 A Hemorrhagic Stroke to be exact, instead of taking the individual to the hospital he was placed in the holding cell for 8 hours before the jailers finally took him to the hospital.
