The Fourth Annual Quilt show at the Clearmont Historical Center is being held throughout the month of March, which is National Quilt Month.

Sandy Hirz, Clearmont Historical Center, talked about this year’s display.

This year the quilts are on display on newly installed rails in the museum back room, as well as in the front room. There is also track lighting to enhance the quilts.

One quilt, make by Fran Fetz, of the historical center, was made out of Crown Royal bottle sacks. Fran has been quilting for about 70 years. She said that the sacks were collected for her by a friend who worked at a bar.

A basket quilt quilted by Julie Weber and her mother, Addie Cook, also a quilter, included several squares that were over 100 years old.

Most are from around the Clearmont area, but this year one quilter came from Casper to display her quilts.

Everyone is welcome to come and view the quilts. Through the month of March, the Center will be open from 10-3 Monday through Saturday, and 12-3 on Sunday. It is located on Front Street in Clearmont, right along Highway 14-16 East.
