News ReleaseOn January 21, 2024, at 2:49 pm MST, Ranchester Fire responded to a reported incident at 48 Wondra Avenue in Ranchester, Wyoming.
The incident involved hot oil igniting during the process of deep frying food.
Firefighters were able to quickly hook up to a nearby hydrant and were ready with a charged line for the initial attack.
However, upon entry, it was determined that the use of fire extinguishers was adequate to extinguish the flames.
During the assessment, firefighters discovered a pot containing the remaining hot oil, and nearby household equipment and adjacent cabinetry were damaged.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
The joint effort of emergency responders from Ranchester Fire, Sheridan Fire Rescue, Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, and Wyoming Regional EMS underscores the importance of a coordinated and swift response from various emergency services to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
Residents are reminded of the critical role working smoke detectors and fire extinguishers play in home safety.
