Wiley, Alicke Win Sneakers and Spurs

The 2023 Sneakers and Spurs Rodeo 5K race happened Friday morning before the parade, and was won by two youthful runners.

The men’s winner was Landrum Wiley, a senior at Sheridan High School, and the women’s winner was Kayley Alicke, a sophomore at Sheridan High School.

Both athletes have been running for a number of years and are members of the cross-country team at SHS.

Wiley spoke with Sheridan Media’s Kevin Koile after the race and talked about how the race went and why he chose to do it.

Alicke spoke about her race and why she wanted to participate.

Both runners used the race to prepare for the upcoming cross country season at SHS.
