The SCSD#2 Board of Trustees met Monday night, September 15, with a light agenda.

In his report, Superintendent Scott Stults talked about the recent ‘back-to-school’ event which was attended by teachers, staff and board members.

He will also continue the chats with the Superintendent this fall.

Stults also talked about the funding model, and the on-going recalibration of the model.

Gail Symons, community member, talked to the board about the funding model. She spoke about a letter to the editor and a call she received from a legislator concerned about the misinformation in the letter.

The board also heard a report from Kristie Garriffa, Assistant Superintendent, about the 2024-25 WY-TOPP and ACT data for the school. SCSD#2 continues to above the state average on the test scores.

In his facilities update, Troy Decker, Facilities Director, talked about some projects that the district was doing, including the Fifth Street greenhouse and a ribbon cutting for the new equipment at the Story Elementary playground.

Trustee Doug Moore also reported that the board members had taken him up on his challenge to ‘Adopt a School.’

The board also approved isolation payment requests for three families in the district.

Next meeting will be Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. in the SCSD#2 District Central Office Board Room.
