Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office Warns Of District Court Phone Scam

The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of a scam circulating the area where the suspect(s) are calling from an unidentified phone number(s) claiming to be from the office of Fourth Judicial District Court Judge Darci Phillips.

The suspect(s) are telling the individuals they failed to appear before Judge Darci Phillips and then demand payment of fines over the phone or other platforms.

The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind and warn citizens the courts, or law enforcement agencies, will never contact individuals by phone and demand money over the phone due to unpaid fines, warrants, or failed court appearances.

This is a SCAM.

Please hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency and/or the agency the suspect(s) are claiming to be from and verify the information yourself.
