Buffalo Council Reallocates Funds to Chamber of Commerce

The Buffalo City Council has reallocated nearly $9,200 in funds to the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Shane Schrader, in a separate interview, explained what happened with the chamber of commerce and why the council decided to reallocate the funds.

Schrader said the visitor’s center is now being operated by the Johnson County Tourism Association, so the funding originally set aside for that satellite office has been given back to the Chamber’s main office downtown.

One downtown business owner spoke after the council’s vote, thanking them for supporting the chamber.

She said she was pleased to see that the chamber had opened back up after being closed much of the winter and spring, and that it is extremely important to the local businesses to have the chamber open for visitors downtown.
