Sheridan Man Sentenced for Drug Distribution

Ron RichterA Sheridan man received a suspended sentence Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court for distributing methamphetamine in the Sheridan area in 2019. District Court Judge John Fenn accepted the terms of the plea agreement that was reached with the State, and sentenced 57-year-old Glenn Murphy to 2 ½ to 4 years in prison for the charge of Delivery of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine, suspended in lieu of three years of supervised probation.
Two drug possession charges, one for methamphetamine and one for marijuana, were dismissed as part of the plea agreement, and Murphy was given 64 days credit for time served. Murphy was arrested for the crimes in November of 2019 following an investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. Judge Fenn ordered Murphy to pay $875 in various court costs and attorney fees and stipulated that a condition of his probation be that he enroll in an intensive substance abuse treatment program.
