Sheridan Commission Repeals Property Tax Deferral Program

Sheridan County’s Commissioners considered repealing the county’s Property Tax Deferral program during this week’s meeting.

County Assessor Koko Knudson explained why she was making the request tor repeal the program.

According to discussion, the last requested deferral was in 1988.

The program is a referral, not a reduction and carries interest that must be paid by the landowner when repaid.

The commission voted to repeal the tax deferral program, with Commissioner Holly Jennings voting against.
