A number of Sheridan runners decided to work out before they pigged out, and at the same time, they tried to make sure those less fortunate had something to eat.
The annual Sheridan Turkey Trot took place at Kendrick Park as participants had the choice of either the one mile or the 2.8 mile course, which is about 4 times around the park.
Art Baures who helped organize this year’s event, says regardless if people walked, ran or were just along for the ride, the Turkey Trot has both health and social benefits.
“When you get the metabolism rolling, and then you put all that food in, I think it helps digestion, but more than anything, this is just a great community event. I see so many people from years of being in Sheridan and its awesome for them to get together and just see each other and just kind of hang out.”
All food items that were donated at the Turkey Trot were delivered to the Food Group.
