WYO Play will hold auditions for the Youth Musical James and the Giant Peach Jr. April 26 and 27.
Casting will not be announced on the same weekend, as with last year. Instead, cast members will be notified mid week, close to May 1.
WYO PLAY Founder and Lead Teacher Grace Cannon-Wallace said this time there is no preparation required to audition. Students will be called up to the stage in groups and asked individually to introduce themselves and sing Row Row Row Your Boat acapella. Then, staff will teach each student a few bars of vocals from one of the show songs, and each student will sing the song section with the music track.
The Youth Musical is open to students currently in 2nd-9th Grades and auditions will be held 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, for 2nd-5th graders. The second set of auditions will begin at 10 a.m. – noon Saturday, April 27, for the 6th-9th grade kids.
Cannon Wallace talked about the auditions location and revealed that costuming will be done in part, by a Sheridan favorite.
