Sheridan HS Softball: While the other spring sports are now preparing for regional competition, the Sheridan High School softball team has one last bit of regular season business to take care of.

The Lady Broncs host Campbell County today in a makeup Northeast quadrant double-header, starting at 4 and 6pm.

The north regional tournament is scheduled for this coming Friday and Saturday at Gillette.

Sheridan HS Soccer: The Sheridan boys won their regular season and home finale vs. Thunder Basin on Friday 3-1, to secure the #1 seed for this weekend’s 4A East Regional Tournament.

The Broncs get a first round bye, meaning they don’t play again until Friday and have automatically qualified for the state tournament.

The Sheridan girls won at Thunder Basin and will be the #3 seed at regionals which is being played at Cheyenne South.

The Lady Broncs will play Thursday and have to win that game to qualify for the state tournament, and continue play for the weekend.

If they lose that Thursday game, their season will be over.

Official brackets for the regional tournaments should be available sometime today.

Buffalo HS Soccer: The Buffalo boys and girls shut out Torrington on Saturday, while the girls also won on Friday in shutout fashion at Newcastle.

The Lady Bison have secured the #1 seed out of the East for the 3A State Tournament.

As for the Bison, they host Worland on Friday and the winner of that game will get the East #1 seed, while the loser is #2.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Track and Field: Track and Field athletes are preparing for their regional meets which are scheduled to take place this coming Friday and Saturday.

Sheridan will be at the 4A East meet at Cheyenne East.

Buffalo will be at the 3A East meet at Glenrock.

Big Horn and Tongue River will be at the 2A East meet, while Arvada-Clearmont and Kaycee will be at the 1A East meet, both of which will take place in Torrington.

Sheridan Mavericks/Lady Mavericks Lacrosse: The Sheridan Mavericks won both games on the road this past weekend in Cody.

The Mavs defeated the host team and the Bozeman JV to finish the regular season undefeated.

Meanwhile, the Lady Mavericks were in Jackson and dropped both of their games against the Bozeman JV.

The Montana High School Lacrosse Association Championship tournaments are scheduled to take place this weekend in Bozeman.

Brackets should become available sometime today.


Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers swept a double-header at home vs. Lovell.

The team is scheduled to start conference play this coming Sunday with a double-header at home vs. Cody.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost 2 out of 3 games this past weekend at Philadelphia.

The Rocks won Friday’s game 9-7 in 11 innings.

Hunter Goodman hit a 2-run home run and Tyler Freeman provided a solo shot to help out.

Colorado lost on Saturday 9-3.

Willi Castro went yard on his own, but it was not enough.

The Phillies would win the rubber game yesterday 6-zip.

The Rockies are off day, and start a 3-game series tomorrow at Pittsburgh.


Colorado Avalanche Hockey/NHL Playoffs: The Colorado Avalanche lost Game 3 of their second round best of 7 series on Saturday at Minnesota 5-1, but lead the series 2 games to 1.

Game 4 is scheduled for today in Minneapolis.

The puck drops at 6pm.

Elsewhere in the playoffs, Anaheim won Game 4 last night at home vs. Las Vegas 4-3, to tie the series at 2 wins each.

Montreal won Game 3 at home vs. Buffalo 6-2, to take a 2-1 lead in their series.

Carolina finished their sweep of Philadelphia on Saturday, to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, and are waiting for the Buffalo/Montreal winner.


NBA Playoffs: Minnesota won Game 4 of their second round best of 7 series yesterday at home vs. San Antonio 114-109 to tie the series at 2.

New York swept Philadelphia with a 144-114 win, to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Oklahoma City will try to finish a sweep of the LA Lakers today, while Detroit and Cleveland meet in the game 4 of their series.

The Pistons currently lead 2-1.
