Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey Team Split Weekend Road Games With New Coach

The Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey team has a new coach and this one says he’s here to stay for the rest of the season, plus he used to play against the team.

Zach Monaco, who used to play for Bozeman, came on board last week and coached the team to a weekend road split, winning against Gillette and losing to Rapid City via shootout.

Before he took over, there had been some concerns with the team in terms of goal production, which was lacking the weekend before and he says from what he has seen after one weekend of play, there’s been improvement.

“I think that we had a spark of life, which is what these guys have been looking for. There’s still a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the puck, but we’re moving in the right direction.”

The Hawks are on the road Friday and Saturday (October 23rd and 24th) for games vs. Butte.

The team returns home next week for a 3-game homestand on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
